Hello Austin! It's lovely to meet you.

Hi there!
My name is Meggan Carney.
I breathed my first breath in Atlanta. My mom and I moved to Houston when I was 3. I spent most of my early childhood days there.. until Austin found me. It snatched me up like how a cozy woolen sweater picks up fuzzies. (I've got big crazy hair, so the word "fuzzies" is quite fitting.)

Anyway, I play music. I'm in a band that I put together toward the end of spring of '09. This band consists of Josh Halpern, the man on the cans, Chris Ruiz, the sexy sax player, and Tom Crail, the baddest bumper & thumper you eva' seen on stand up and electric bass. We've been playing at Momo's quite often, and we are getting a lot of great practice. And I say practice because we plan on doing great(er) things. And we sure do appreciate Momo's for continuing to invite us back. That venue has got the best acoustics in Austin! And the coolest employees. Hey, SxSW is approaching, so keep an eye out for us, Austinites. A Texas tour is also in clear view for next year.

But as far as I go: I spend a lot of time writing, not necessarily music all the time, but I kinda just like to get my thoughts out on paper, ya know? It's very therapeutic. Occasionally I'll spend time alone to reflect on what I learn from the world and the all of these people surrounding me. I love people. As kids we were taught not to talk to strangers, well, now the strangers are great! It's confrontation in its most raw form, and it's very stimulating.

I'm 21, going on 22 (next month), I'm a scorpio, I'm very right hemispheric, I drink coffee (but thinking about switching to tea) I'll sing for you at any given moment if you ask me to, and my favorite food is pineapple chicken pizza.
